Christmas Gift Ideas for Afro Hair Lovers (UK Gift Guide 2026)

The best gifts are the ones that make someone feel looked after. For anyone with Afro or textured hair, nothing says that quite like a wash day that feels like a treat instead of a chore.

For years I treated my hair as something to rush through and sigh about. Turning wash day into self-care changed everything for me, and it's the thinking behind every gift on this list. Our Christmas batch of Heat Hats ships on 13 November, weeks before Christmas, so there's plenty of time to wrap.

Friendsmas, wash day edition.

For the girls (Friendsmas)

The TT Heat Hat in Tropical Print – £44.99. Our prints are exclusive to Team Texture, so you won't find them on Amazon. Perfect for the friend who turns wash day into a full self-care evening.

For treating yourself (Luxe Christmas)

The TT Tropics Set – £59.99. The Tropical Print Heat Hat with the 400GSM silky-lined Self-Care Headband, plus a floral shower cap and guide. You save £4.50 compared with buying the hat and headband separately, and it's ready to gift.

For Mum and Nan (The Matriarch)

The TT Heat Hat in Original Black – £44.99. Our bestseller. Set the temperature (any temperature up to 80°C), set the timer (up to 30 minutes, with a real-time countdown), and the switch sounds an alert and turns itself off when the session's done.

For the stocking

The TT Self-Care Headband – £19.50. A thicker 400GSM silky-lined headband that seals heat in at the edges during heat treatments, keeps product off your face during skincare, and doubles as a low-tension styling option.

Why a Heat Hat makes such a good gift

In the book I explain that low, gentle heat when conditioning can help soften the hair and improve absorption of some ingredients, especially in thicker or low-porosity hair. You simply cover your hair with an electric heated hat or a warm towel for twenty to thirty minutes after applying your conditioner or mask, then rinse. Always check whether your product advises heat and follow the manufacturer's instructions. I use my Heat Hat every wash day, even with basic conditioners. Read the full method in How to Deep Condition Afro Hair at Home and the safety questions in Is a Heat Cap Safe for Afro Hair?

Every TT Heat Hat has a detachable, washable, flame-retardant lining and works on all hair textures, including locs and relaxed hair.
