The switch is one of the most-touched parts of the Heat Hat — you use it every single wash day. Here is exactly what has changed and what it means for your wash day experience:
First Generation
The original — functional, but limited.
The first generation switch was where it all began. It got the job done, but with significant limitations. You had just 2 temperature control modes to choose from, a fixed usage window of 15–20 minutes, and a maximum operating temperature capped at 65°C. There was no timer display, no sound alert and no way to customise your session to your specific hair type or treatment. It was a one-size-fits-all approach — and for a community as diverse as ours, that was never going to be enough.
Second Generation
A step forward — but still not there.
The second generation brought improvements. You now had 10-level temperature control modes with overheat protection, and 3 timer modes spanning 20–45 minutes for your sessions. But it still had real limitations. The maximum temperature was still capped at 65°C. There was no sound alarm and no countdown timer — meaning there was absolutely no way for you to be notified when your session was finishing or to see how much time you had left. You were still guessing. You were still checking your phone. And you still had no real control over your wash day experience.

Apply Conditioner
Cleanse your hair then apply a generous amount of deep conditioner, mask or moisturising treatment throughout.
Step Two
Detangle
Work the product evenly through every section from root to tip. Detangle thoroughly so heat distributes evenly.
Step Three
Put On Your Hat
Put on your TT Shower Cap, secure the base with your TT Headband, to trap the heat, then place the Heat Hat over the top and plug in.
Step Four
Set & Relax
