What is #AfroJanuary?
#AfroJanuary is a month-long reset for your hair and your relationship with it.
It’s an intentional pause from chaos, over-styling, product hopping, and comparison — and a return to understanding, consistency, and care.
Throughout January, we focus on learning how Afro hair actually works, building a routine that supports it, and undoing years of misinformation that leave so many of us feeling frustrated with our hair.
This isn’t about chasing length, trends, or perfection.
It’s about creating healthier hair habits that last beyond January.
Why I’m starting #AfroJanuary
I’m starting #AfroJanuary because too many Black women feel like they’re failing at their hair, when in reality, they were never given the right information in the first place.
I see it every day — in my DMs, my quizzes, my book readers, and my customers:
People doing everything, yet still dealing with dryness, breakage, confusion, and exhaustion.
Afro hair isn’t difficult.
It’s just different — and it deserves care that actually works with its structure, not against it.
#AfroJanuary is about slowing down, simplifying, and rebuilding trust with your hair...with my help 🥹❤️
What you’ll get from #AfroJanuary
By the end of #AfroJanuary, you’ll have:
• A clearer understanding of how Afro hair functions
• A simple, repeatable routine you actually understand
• Healthier moisture retention and less breakage
• More confidence styling your natural hair
• Less overwhelm and product confusion
• A calmer, more intentional relationship with your hair
This is education-first, not trend-led — so what you learn what ACTUALLY WORKS.
Who #AfroJanuary is for?
#AfroJanuary is for you if:
• Your hair always feels dry no matter what you use
• You’re experiencing breakage, thinning, or poor retention
• You feel overwhelmed by routines and conflicting advice
• You’ve lost trust in your ability to “do” your hair properly
• You want healthier hair, not just temporary results
• You’re tired of starting again every few months
Whether your Afro is short, big, coily, stretched, damaged, transitioning, or thriving — you are welcome here.
The challenges I’ll be helping you with
During #AfroJanuary, I’ll be guiding you through:
• Chronic dryness and moisture that never lasts
• Breakage, thinning edges, and poor length retention
• Product overload and routine confusion
• Styling that doesn’t hold or reflect your effort
• Scalp sensitivity, flaking, and uncertainty around oils
• Hair loss anxiety linked to stress, hormones, or illness
• The emotional frustration tied to years of hair shame
This is about addressing the root, not masking the symptoms.
